FIELD: cleaning and shredding of roots and tubers. SUBSTANCE: the cleaner-shredder has frame 1, drum 3 with a tapered hopper having a neck and dividing the drum into cleaning (5) and shredding (6) chambers. The drum is installed on rollers and has a set of aligned rings with coupling members 7 located between them. Bottom 9 concentrically enveloping the rings has window 10, in which the shredding member in the form of hammer rotor 11 is installed outside the drum; rotor 14 with an elastic nap is mounted outside the cleaning chamber, loading conveyer 18 is located on the side of the smaller base of the tapered hopper; blade 17 for fixing on the frame or drum is installed inside the cleaning chamber on a shaft aligned with the drum.
