FIELD: application of coatings. SUBSTANCE: melt for application of metal coating in ultrasonic field contains, wt.-%: aluminum, 5.3-22; titanium and vanadium, 0.05-0.4; zinc, the balance. The method is accomplished by moving the article in melt of the composition through gap between sources of ultrasonic oscillations with melt overheated by 10-45 C above melting point and application of ultrasonic field with intensity of 8-10 W/sq.cm and velocity of pulling-through of 1-20 m/min and gap between article and source of ultrasonic oscillations of 2.1-3.5 mm. The plant for application of coating has bath with heaters, instruments for monitoring, regulation and maintenance of temperature, pulling-through mechanism with feed and reception drums, magnetostriction converter with source of ultrasonic oscillations in the form of two waveguides, and generator.
