METHOD OF SHERARDIZING AND PLANT FOR ITS EMBODIMENT Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

FIELD: mechanical and instrumentation engineering; applicable in processes of thermochemical treatment of machine parts and instruments, particularly, thermodiffusion zinc plating of steel machine parts. SUBSTANCE: method includes loading of machine parts into retort of revolving electric furnace; filling of impregnating mixture containing 80-90% of zinc, sealing of retort, heating it to preset temperature, holding for some time at said temperature, release of pressure in retort during the entire process of sherardizing, unloading of machine parts fro retort, their washing and passivation. For formation of zinc coating of 1 mcm thick, filling mass of impregnating mixture amount to 7.8-8.2 g/sq.m. Plant for sherardizing has a bed carrying turning beam and inclination drive, revolving furnace on turning beam, retort located in furnace, retort revolving drive. Sluice chamber is installed on side of loading hole and provided with draining branch pipe whose inner diameter-length ratio is at least 1:20. Sluice chamber is filled with impregnating mixture. EFFECT: formation of zinc coatings of definite thickness during preset time, simplified process, higher quality of zinc coatings, reduced duration of process cycle. 2 cl, 6 dwg, 1 tbl
