EQUIPMENT OPERATION METHOD AT BLANK UPSETTING Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: plastic metal working, particularly, blank upsetting in press with two movable working tables at process of making one-piece rolled wheels. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of placing blank on first table and feeding it to working zone for preliminary upsetting, coinciding preliminarily upset blank with sizing ring for upsetting blank in said ring; centering sizing ring on second table before speeding up blank by punch, descaling, feeding sizing ring to working zone by second table, speeding up blank by means of punch in sizing ring on second table, lifting traverse bar of press together with punch and moving second table out of working zone for removing blank from sizing ring. Preliminarily upset blank is coincided with floating sizing ring due to clamping blank and lifting it with the aid of traverse bar of press. Blank is upset in sizing ring onto second table. Before speeding up blank traverse bar is lifted, punch is descended and sizing ring with blank is raised over second table at simultaneously descaling and centering it according to punch.
