FIELD: ferrous metallurgy, namely, production of railway road wheels. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of melting series of melt of converter steel, out-of-furnace treatment of wheel steel until sum (C=1/4Mn) achieves predetermined value, continuously casting steel to ingots, rolling wheels, heat treatment of them by heating wheels until temperature of thermic strengthening, cooling for predetermined time period and tempering. At process of out-of-furnace treatment providing value of sum (C=1/4Mn) equal to 0.815-0.864 for all melts. Heat treatment of wheels of different melts is realized according to the same pattern of thermic strengthening with constant time period of cooling and tempering.
