FIELD: electric irons for ironing and steaming of cloth products. SUBSTANCE: the cord carrier is made of a flexible strip, having a bed on the front part for interference fit of the cord section at the iron. A round cavity communicating with the handle cavity is made in the rear post. The carrier is located for movement between the wall of the handle cavity and its inserts. The carrier front part projects from the handle, and the rear part is placed in the rod cavity forming a spiral of Archimedes. In cross-section the carrier may be curved, and the cord is located in its bed by means of a flexible elastic bushing enveloping it. The rests have a different length and weight. The spring inserts have convex link surfaces and openings for passage of the upper corner sections of the U-shaped member of the rest control facilities.
