FIELD: ironing and steaming of articles. SUBSTANCE: iron has supports disposed at iron sides and pivotally connected transfer member. Support inner sides are provided with vertical recesses for receiving sides of transfer member. Pivotal tips of compression springs are received within handle recess. Middle portion of transfer member is positioned in spring. One of contact members for disconnecting from mains is disposed on side part of transfer member and other contact member is inserted into handle pole.
