FIELD: lighting engineering; transport. SUBSTANCE: headlight has no lens. It may be covered by any shielding glass. Owing to the fact that headlight has no optical elements on shielding glass, the latter may be any shape, including that with large angle of inclination in vertical plane. Headlight has reflector consisting of four sectors with similar type surfaces smoothly changing one into another, lamp with longitudinal cylindrical luminous element and shielding glass without optical element. Surfaces of all sectors of reflector are of similar type formed by rotating one branch of parabola around headlight axis with peak located in top of reflector and focus lying on headlight axis. Surface of reflector may be limited from top and bottom by horizontal planes, and at left side, by vertical plane. Luminous element can be displaced upwards through distance equal approximately to radius of luminous element. Extent of reflector right-hand half may exceed that of left-hand half. Lamp luminous element may be displaced to the left through distance not exceeding half the radius of luminous element. Polynomial of third power minimum may be used as function setting the relationship between focal distance of parabola and angle of turn. Angle between plane tangential to reflector surface and meridional semiplane passing through the point for each point of boundary may be equal to 90 deg. EFFECT: improved illumination of road in front of vehicle, higher sharpness and straightness of light-darkness boundary, reduced overall dimensions of headlight. 7 cl, 4 dwg
