HAMMER Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: machinery for mining and construction industries. SUBSTANCE: this can be used for driving metal tubes and other construction articles in ground or caved rock mass. Hammer is intended for driving in metal tubes in horizontal direction. It has body with flanges, movable striker which is centered by rods, and drive unit. Centering rods are located between cylindrical body and striker and at one side they have cylindrical surface with its radius coinciding with radius of cylindrical body. At opposite side they have flat chamfer. Centering rods by their cylindrical surface are resting on inner surface of cylindrical body, and by their flat surface they are resting on striker which is provided over perimeter of outer surface with longitudinal chamfers according to number of centering rods. These centering rods are located uniformly over perimeter of clearance between cylindrical body and striker. Number of centering rods is selected from following condition β ≤ 45^°, where β - central angle between radii in lateral cross-section of hammer drawn to centers of adjacent rods.
