SUBSTANCE: 4-(4-phenyl-1-piperazinyl) phenols having common formula given in specification where each of R¹ and R² is H, C_1-6 alkyl or halogen; R³ is H, halogen, NO₂; R⁴ is H or CF₃; Y is H, NO₂,C_1-6 alkylamino, C_1-6 alkyl carcarbonylamino, C_1-6 alkyl, C_1-6 alkylcarbonyl, oxy, halogen or heterocyclic radical which may be optionally substituted, proviso that at least one of R¹ and R² is alkyl or halogen, R³ is halogen or NO₂ and R⁴ is trifluoromethyl; proposed as active ingredients for pharmaceutical compositions which inhibits 5-lipoxyhenase.
