FIELD: preparation of biologically active substances. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to preparation of quercetin from larch wood to be used in medicine as vasocorroborative means and also in food, chemical, and other industries as oxidation inhibitor, complexon, and dye. larch wood is treated by alkali or alkali-earth metal bisulfite aqueous solution at 25-100 C. Exhausted solution is separated and subjected to heat treatment at 125-145 C. Solution is then cooled in two steps: first by blowing away gas-vapor mixture to attain 100-105 C and then by circulation heat exchange to 50-60 C. Crude quercetin is isolated and treated with 96% ethanol. Insoluble impurities are filtered off and filtrate is added to distilled water at ratio of water to isolated crude quercetin from 10:1 to 30:1. Resultant mixture is evaporated until crystals are formed, which are then filtered off and washed out by distilled water. EFFECT: improved preparation procedure.
