FIELD: electrical engineering. SUBSTANCE: magnetic field sources marking the magnetic flux of leakage field of object under test are secured mechanically on object being tested. Position of sources relative to one another forms spatial field of marked magnetic flux embracing great number of measurement points determined preliminarity for object under test. In this case, provision is made for angular stabilization of meter-converter sensitivity axis relative to object being tested. Meter-converter is positioned in field of marked magnetic flux, and position of meter-converter relative to object under test is judged by value and relation of amplitudes of meter-converter signal spectral components corresponding to oscillation frequencies in magnetic field sources used. Required movement towards first measurement point is calculated by known dependences. Meter-converter is moved to given point at which condition of tested object parameters being checked is judged. To verify obtained information, change-over to next measurement points is performed by respective situation algorithm. EFFECT: more effective diagnosis. 6 dwg
