FIELD: cold rolling. SUBSTANCE: pilger mill for cold rolling has working stand of rolls mounted for reciprocating motion which is connected through connecting rod to finger of connecting rod of crank and which inertial mass may be at least partially levelled with countermasses in the form of centrifugal balances placed eccentrically relative to rotation axis of crank and with displacement relative to point of action of connecting rod on crank. Transmission formed by crank and countermasses is divided into two parts arranged in mirror symmetry to plane crossing axis of pilger mill in vertical direction. Parts of transmission are intercoupled through shaft of common group of drives which is positioned under plane of pilger mill and is composed of motor, clutch and bevel gearing. Rotation axes of parts of transmission are placed in parallel one to another and horizontally, and crank of both parts have opposite directions of rotation.
