FIELD: metallurgy; may be used for preliminary evaluation of uniformity of drawing of billets in roller guides of continuous casting machine. SUBSTANCE: method consists in pulling of measuring aid controlling adjustment of rollers with the help of dummy bar, in measurement and recording of results of measurement. Quality of adjustment of electric drives and roller bearings is judged by pulsation of nonuniformity of rate of pulling of dummy bar. Transducers of rollers of contact and contact-free types arranged on base hinged to dummy bar are used as measuring aid. For examination of individual sections or rollers dummy bar in the form of hinge-joined segments manufactured with capability to change value of distance between surfaces contacting rollers is pulled.
