FIELD: automobile and aerospace industries; used for manufacture of intermetal castings with small level of impurities from aluminides of titanium, nickel or iron, for instance. SUBSTANCE: charge of solid metal protected, as it is required, from air is placed into vessel and charge of another metal which undergoes exothermic reaction with first metal is melted in another vessel. Molten second metal is injected into vessel containing charge of first metal to contact with first metal. First and second metals are heated in vessel up to their exothermic reaction and formation of melt for casting into mould without use of pressure or by method of counterpressure. Exothermic reaction between first and second metals releases considerable amount of heat which decreases time necessary to obtain melt ready for casting into mould.
