FIELD: wood- working equipment, applicable for length cutting of logs, turning, shaping operation, shaped excerpt in a log at an accelerated working cycle. SUBSTANCE: the machine has a headstock with an end chuck member, carriage with a cutting member, two jacks mounted on the carriage for transverse movement and a tailstock with a V-shaped roller and swing-attached cantilever that carries a tailstock sleeve, the cantilever swing axis being perpendicular to the machine longitudinal axis, all above components are installed on a bed-frame along its longitudinal axis. At a feed of a log the cantilever gets unfixed, turned aside, for instance the log is fed from a roller table, placed on the jacks, and the carriage is moved, the log is positioned between the stocks, the cantilever with the tailstock sleeve is returned to the initial position and fixed, after that the log is centered and clamped by the chuck member and tailstock sleeve.
