FIELD: wood-working industry, in particular, installations for manufacture of the components of log houses, lumbers and some kinds of linear articles from logs. SUBSTANCE: the installation has a frame with a log alignment mechanism installed on it making it possible to fasten and rotate the log in the centers of the front and rear heads, movable carriage carrying the working tool and provided with a steadyrest mechanism preventing the log from deflection. The mechanism for removal of finished articles from the zone of processing and return of the articles for re-processing is made in the form of rotary brackets installed on the frame for turning in hinges in two mutually perpendicular planes, it has also a flexible tie, whose one end is secured on the frame, and the other on the movable carriage. The log alignment mechanism is provided with additional supports for the log, and both heads are installed for horizontal transverse travel. The spindles of the movable carriage, carrying the working tool, are installed above and below the axles of the centers of the front and rear heads, and the additional supports of the log alignment mechanism can move in the vertical and horizontal directions.
