FIELD: production of polymer materials. SUBSTANCE: artificial leather on the base of vinylidene chloride polymer and peptizing agent has cellular porous cross-linked structure. Powder vinylidene chloride is molded, affected by frothing which takes place by heating to temperature higher 180 C and then is allowed to stand within 1-30 min at 20-70 C in solution of peptizing agent (e.g. esters of phthalic, sebacic and phosphoric acid) in organic solvent (e. g. ketones, alkyl acetates, alkyl chlorides) and dried. Concentration of peptizing agent is 3-35 mass %. Before sustaining material may be affected by rolling on cold rollers or by multiple bending together with preliminary sustaining in water within 1-5 min, the latter process takes place at ambient temperature under vacuum or at 80-100 C at atmospheric pressure. Material may be washed by water or by mixture of water and acetone (its quantity being up to 1.5 weight parts per 1 weight part of water), the process is carried out after sustaining in solution of peptizing agent and takes place at 20-40 C within 10-30 min. Material may be colored by feeding of soluble dye in solution of peptizing agent or by feeding of carbon black into vinylchloride polymer before its molding. To make surface of material chamois-like material may be affected by surface polishing or may be cut, the process takes place before or after its sustaining in solution of peptizing agent.
