According to method, at taking water by filtering water intake, established is hydraulic mode of its operation at which passing through downstream section of water intake filter as to transit flow direction is return filtration flow. For this purpose increased is relation of transit flow speed in section of water intake location to average speed of filtration through water intake filter up to value which exceeds critical value equal to 35 for water intake filter made of permeable artificial or natural materials.
