FIELD: transport facilities. SUBSTANCE: engine has case accommodating chemical current supply, charging device, oscillatory circuit incorporating capacitor and inductance coil, control unit, and two working chambers installed on either side of piston and filled with working fluid. Each chamber houses N pairs of planar current conductors connected in pairs and mounted for linear displacement. Engine is controlled by passing pulse discharge current from capacitor through N pairs of conductors installed on one side of piston, building up magnetic field around coil, displacing conductors of each pair in opposite directions to build up hydraulic pressure, and displacing the piston. Then pulse current is passed through N conductors on other side of piston to build up magnetic field around coil, and conductors of each pair of second chamber are displaced in opposite directions. This moves piston in opposite direction while compressing conductors of each pair of first working chamber. EFFECT: improved pulse power and reduced working fluid flowrate. 4 cl, 3 dwg
