FIELD: microbiology, fungicides, agriculture. SUBSTANCE: method involves preparing pathogenic mycelium of species Pythium in cultural medium layer, application of sterile soil layer on the grown mycelium, addition of analyzed antifungal agent to soil, incubation of mixture and evaluation of inhibition effect of antifungal agent on pathogenic fungus growth. Antifungal agent inhibiting fungus growth in soil completely is selected. Obtained antifungal agent is investigated additionally in plants infected with pathogen. For this purpose soil sample is inoculated with pathogenic fungus, for example, Aphanomyces cochlioides, Pythium ultimum. Plant seeds were sown in infected soil using seeds showing sensitivity to fungus infection (sugar beet, pea). Seeds were germinated, plants were grown and inhibition effect of antifungal agent is evaluated by comparison of infected and normal plants state. Bacterial strains Pseudomonas fluorescens NCIB 40186, NCIB 40187, NCIB 40188 and NCIB 40190 were selected and composition containing one of above indicated bacterial strains and vehicle is made.
