FIELD: transport engineering. SUBSTANCE: joint of protective device includes protective casing and cover mounted on shaft by means of clamping clip. Inner surface of cover is provided with longitudinal slots forming axial air passages together with surface of shaft; air passages are connected with interior of cover; one radial air passage is communicated with atmosphere through holes available in clip. Radial air passage is formed between end shoulder of cover and outer end surface of protective casing. Inner surface of casing is provided with longitudinal slots forming additional axial air passages connected with additional radial passage formed between end surface pf cover and inner end surface of protective casing. Mounted in cavity is moisture-tight circular member ensuring circulation of air and enhancing operational reliability of joint of transmission shaft.
