FIELD: automatic control and computer engineering; interfacing analog information sources and digital computers. SUBSTANCE: second harmonic phase signal shifted in phase from reference one through angle proportional to angle increment to 2π is shaped; also shaped are orthogonal values by delaying present amplitude of first phase signal by π/2; current values of amplitude of second phase signal are compared during same digital time moments with amplitudes of same signal delayed by π/2; ratio of modulo lower compared value to modulo higher value for second phase signal is determined; ratio is subjected to arc tangent transform, considering signs of compared values and difference of their modules, into present value of second phase signal angle; instant value of angle of shaft turn is shaped in the form of difference between present values of angle of first and second signal; instant values of angle of shaft turn are averaged. EFFECT: improved accuracy. 4 dwg, 2 tbl
