ROTARY SECTIONAL EVAPORATOR Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

Abstract RU 2108840 C1

FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: this kind of evaporator is used in food, chemical, pharmaceutical and other branches of industry and is intended for freeing various mixtures from substantial amounts of readily volatile component in process of concentrating thermally labile materials. Apparatus has vertical cylindrical housing which in its height is divided into sections. Diameter of sections is reduced from upper to lower section. Each section is provided with jacket, and heat carrier is delivered into it. Each section is separated into several contact members which are made up of drain plate, rotating sprayer with intake device and wall-mounted drip-baffle which together create common heat-transfer surface in combination with heated housing. Intensive circulation of solution on each contact member is accompanied with multiple dispersion and agitation of liquid film on heat-exchanging surface. Aforesaid embodiment of apparatus substantially improves quality of evaporation process and widens range of loads relating to liquid phase. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 1 dwg
