SUBSTANCE: given method enables conversion of continuous information signal to set of discrete information intervals of time to be filled with count pulses, with correlation of moment of formation of next information interval leading edge and moment of formation of corresponding count pulse being preserved. It also enable separation of moments of next probing pulse radiation and recording of proceeding probing pulse in time. Device for method realization has two ultrasonic transducers positioned along line parallel to surface of object being checked, acoustic pulse generator, amplifier-former, six electronic switches, two triggers, single-shot multivibrator, and two counters.
