FIELD: measurement technology, check of level of liquid media in reservoirs. SUBSTANCE: it is suggested for solution of this problem to neutralize negative action of parasitic acoustic pulses by way of synchronization of moments of their recording with moments of registration of information acoustic pulses. With this in mind one of acoustic converters in device realizing this method if replaced with reflector. In process of measurement each next radiation of pulse probing distance to checked surface is carried out at moment of simultaneous recording of two acoustic pulses repeatedly re-reflected with their propagation along probing trajectory. In this case moments of start of execution of next measurement cycles do not coincide in time with moments of radiation of acoustic pulses. Circuits of devices realizing this method allow distance to this or that surface to be checked both with relatively fast and sufficiently slow change of specified distance.
