FIELD: computer engineering. SUBSTANCE: method involves organization of virtual space where objects appear, move, and disappear in desired and random way. Virtual space thus formed is displayed for user and converted according to real physical movement of user in real space considering interaction with objects in virtual space. User is placed on floor at datum point so that he can interact with objects in virtual space and make desired number of steps on this floor in any direction. Number, size, and direction of steps made by user on this floor relative to datum point are determined, and displacement of user's feet is compensated for so that he can remain on floor during his interaction with virtual space. Virtual space is additionally converted according to number, size, and direction of user's steps and displayed to user. EFFECT: improved design. 17 cl, 8 dwg
