FIELD: transportation facilities. SUBSTANCE: drive system for bow-shaped escalator with frame arranged in a spiral in vertical direction has step transportation section with sector cross-section and is provided with chain wheels, upper and lower turning sections with drive and guides to return steps set into operation by chains hinge-connected in their side edge zones arranged in parallel with each other and formed from inner and outer plates. Each step has axial section corresponding to edge zone and provided with running roller, and non-drive roller located at a distance from axial section. Rollers move along guides. At least one of end zones of plates and/or corresponding axial section has bushing with spherical bearing. Running roller provided with spherical bearing is installed at one side between parallel inner plates in zone of corresponding section and at other side is located between bushings provided with spherical bearing in corresponding end zones of inner plates.
