METHOD FOR LINING INTERNAL SURFACE OF TUBE WITH GLASS Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: application of corrosion-resistant linings into surface of metal tubes used in oil, chemical and other industries. SUBSTANCE: hollow glass blank is fed into tube to be lined, followed by heating tube and glass blank, while, simultaneously, providing elevated air pressure in glass blank interior in relation to channel defined by tube wall and glass blank. Operation of heating glass blank and building-up elevated air pressure in its interior is carried out by blowing hot air through hollow glass blank. Operation of blowing hot air through hollow glass blank is synchronized with operation of pumping-out air from channel between tube wall and glass blank. Several tubes accommodating hollow glass blanks are arranged in row, hot air is blown through them, whereas air is pumped out individually from each channel between tube wall and glass blank. Air pumped-out from last-in-row glass blank can be delivered to heat outer surfaces of tubes. Each tube accommodating, placed into it, hollow glass blank is mounted in inclined manner.
