FIELD: optical industry; electronic industry.
SUBSTANCE: elements of fibre optics that can be used for manufacturing multicapillary structures for gas storage. The method includes sealing glass blanks on one side, assembling a preform from glass blanks, feeding it into an oven, heating it in the oven to form a bulb, and moulding and drawing out the formed multicapillary structure. In this case, glass blanks are selected that have the ability to crystallize at a temperature exceeding the softening temperature by at least 100°C. The furnace temperature during the drawing process is selected in the range between the temperatures of the lower and the upper limits of glass crystallization. The feed rate of the preform into the oven is set from 0.2 to 2.5 mm/min. Moulding is carried out until a crystalline layer with a crystal size of 0.5-3 mcm is formed.
EFFECT: increased strength of multicapillary structures due to strengthening the outer walls of the structure and preventing development of microcracks on its surface.
