FIELD: chemical engineering. SUBSTANCE: isoamyl alcohol is isolated from still bottoms resulting from production of ethyl alcohol by removing admixtures by using rectification at still temperature of not higher than 130 C and to attain the content of components (which have boiling temperature lower than that of isoamyl alcohol) of not higher than 1 wt %, followed by straightrun distillation of the resulting still bottoms. In order to produce isoamyl alcohol in admixture with other aliphatic alcohols, rectification is carried out at still temperature of not higher than 120 C and at water content of not higher than 0.3 wt %. EFFECT: more efficient preparation method. 2 cl, 1 dwg
