FIELD: plastic coatings. SUBSTANCE: parts of plastic coatings on metallic pipes, which were either removed or damaged, are repaired using one or more segments of a hollow cylinder with inner radius matching outer radius of metallic pipe and outer radius equal to outer radius of metallic pipe plus 80 to 120% of coating thickness. This segment is manufactured from polymer composition, preferably polymer foam containing 92-98 wt % of propylene polymer selected from the group including polypropylene, crystalline propylene-ethylene copolymers containing 2 to 25 mol % ethylene and/or C4-C10-alpha-olefin, heterophase compositions containing indicated propylene and crystalline propylene copolymers combined with at least one olefin elastomers; and 2-8 wt % of UV stabilizer.
