FIELD: precious metal recovery. SUBSTANCE: method is meant to be applied in carbon-sorption technology for recovering precious metals from solutions and slurries. Method involves high-temperature treatment under inert atmosphere in high-frequency field, preferably at 915-5800 MHz. Loss of activated carbon is decreased to 0.4-1.1% after carrying out, respectively, 1-5 sorption- regeneration cycles owing to reduced charring while simultaneously preserving mechanical strength of carbon. EFFECT: accelerated process and reduced power consumption. 2 cl, 3 tbl
