FIELD: metallurgy; cold-roller steel sheets for shadow masks, for instance, for cathode-ray tube of color-TV set. SUBSTANCE: method includes the following stages: diffusion annealing of steel deoxidized by aluminum with extremely low carbon content at temperature of 1200-11250 C. The steel contains the following ratio of components, wt.-%: Mn, not less 0.004; C, 0.1-0.4; P, not less 0.02; Si, not less 0.02; soluble Al, 0.02-0.08; N, not less, 0.004; Cr, 0.02-0.06; Nb, 0.0050-0.030; Fe and other unavoidable impurities, the balance. Then, final hot rolling is carried out at temperature of 900-940 C, coiling of steel sheet at temperature of 550-650 C, cold rolling up to final thickness of steel sheet at reduction ratio of 85-90%, continuous annealing at temperature of 640-680 C and common temper rolling.
