FIELD: measurement technology. SUBSTANCE: measuring shunt is disconnected before start of measurement and alternating compensation current equal in frequency and opposite in phase to current flowing in circuit formed by measured capacitance and parasitic capacitance between one of bodies and " ground "is formed in circuit of measured capacitance. Value of compensation current is changed so that resulting current in mentioned circuit decreases to zero. After this measuring shunt is again connected to midpoint of divider. Device for realization of method has alternating voltage generator 1, measuring shunt 2, voltmeter 3, computer 4, controlled key 5, comparator 6, controlled voltage source 7, voltage-to-capacitance converter 8, negative impedance converter 9 and control unit 10. Controlled voltage source includes generator 11 of unipolar rectangular pulses, reversible counter 12 and digital-to-analog converter 13.
