FIELD: applicable in the process of production of olefin oxides. SUBSTANCE: molybdenum-containing catalyst is produced by dissolution of metallic molybdenum or its compounds by interaction with a solution of oxygen-containing compounds and olefin with subsequent stabilization of catalyst solution. Stabilization is accomplished by treatment of catalyst solution with aluminium oxide, silica gel, zeolites or their mixture, which prevents formation of molybdenum sludge.
