FIELD: shipbuilding; designing of ship's hulls with reduced hydrodynamic resistance for reduction of power requirements during motion of ship. SUBSTANCE: hull includes fore, aft and side sections located symmetrically relative to CL, steering gear and propeller; side sections have flat and parallel surfaces; in lower portion there is recess symmetrical to ship's axis. According to invention, this recess is engageable with side surfaces by bevels at height of recess directed inside ship's hull. Upper surface of recess may be inclined downward relative to aft section and may be provided with leading part; upper part may be located in water medium and leading part may be located in air medium. EFFECT: reduced power requirements due to reduced hydrodynamic resistance of ship. 2 cl, 3 dwg
