ACKNOWLEDGING DEVICE FOR VEHICLE DRIVER Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

Abstract RU 2111133 C1

FIELD: transport engineering. SUBSTANCE: operation of device is based on recording heart pulse rate and provides for delivery of warning signal to headset when pulse rate drops below preset limit. Pickup attached to driver's ear lobe by means of clips consists of miniature light source and photodetector located at both sides of ear lobe. Changes in saturation of blood vessels of ear lobe with blood are converted into electric signals. Evaluation of pulse rate is carried out by frequency comparator in electronic unit, and current value of pulse beat rate is reflected by counter. EFFECT: improved safety on road. 4 dwg
