FIELD: aeronautical engineering. SUBSTANCE: aircraft engines 12 are arranged in fuselage 1 and propellers 14 are mounted on pylons 15 mounted at left and right or at top of fuselage 1 at distance slightly exceeding the sizes of propeller radius. Drive to propellers 14 from engines 12 is effected with the aid of transmission shaft 16 located inside pylons 15. One end of each transmission shaft 16 is mechanically connected with reduction gear 13 of engine 12 and other (outer) end of transmission shaft 16 is connected with mechanism of propeller drive 18 secured on end of pylon 15 and enclosed in metal casing 20. Pylon 15 is made in form of rigid load-bearing structure securely connected with fuselage; it has aerodynamically streamlined profile. Transmission shafts 16 are connected with each other between reduction gears 13 by means of intermediate shaft 21 which consists of two parts mechanically interconnected through controllable clutch 22. In case of stoppage of engine in flight, controllable clutch places in operation transmission shaft 16 of engine which has stopped and its propeller 14. EFFECT: improved aerodynamic, flight and operating characteristics of aircraft; reliable protection of engine plants against surrounding medium; enhanced reliability of engine plant in adverse weather conditions. 8 cl, 15 dwg
