FIELD: chemical engineering. SUBSTANCE: furnace basically designed to produce uranium dioxide from uranium hexafluoride has inlet device and heated rotatory drum. Uranium hexafluoride reacts with water vapor in the inlet device of furnace to form uranyl fluoride that is transferred into rotatory drum by agency of rotating worm mechanism. Being in the drum, uranyl fluoride reacts with water vapor and hydrogen fed in countercurrent mode to yield uranium dioxide as final product. Filter made from porous metal or porous ceramics tightly embraces worm feeder to recover solid particles from furnace release gases. Filter is cleaned by spiral blades contained in worm feeding mechanism. Uranyl fluoride powder obtained may be processed into nuclear fuel pellets. EFFECT: improved design of furnace inlet device. 7 cl, 3 dwg
