FIELD: cleaning materials from radioactive pollutants. SUBSTANCE: method involves following operations: mentioned material is placed in permeable container and the latter is mounted in rotating vessel that has one or more holes; leaching liquid is introduced in mentioned vessel and the latter is set in rotary motion; upon leaching material is rinsed. After rinsing liquid is evacuated from vessel, material is subjected to centrifugal drying. Device implementing proposed method has container provided with one or more openings for introducing mentioned material, revolving vessel with one or more openings for mounting container holding material to be contaminated, vessel drive that functions to set the latter in rotary motion, as well as means for feeding leaching and rinsing liquids to vessel.
