FIELD: steelmaking. SUBSTANCE: invention concerns out-of-furnace treatment of steel smelt by powder wire modifiers under bottom casting. According to invention, deoxidation of unkilled metal tapped into ladle is performed by graduated ends of powder wire modifiers. These ends are introduced into central drop gate and bottom guide plates when steel-casting composition is being prepared. EFFECT: considerably simplified and made less expensive deoxidation technology, improved ingot structure, and improved environmental condition. 1 tbl
