FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ferrous metallurgy, and namely to out-of-furnace steel treatment with calcium methods. Steel is poured from a steel-making unit to a ladle, to which supplied are desoxidants, alloying and slag-forming materials and a calcium containing material, and it is blown off using inert gas. As the calcium containing material, used is an alloy of calcium with silicium supplied to the ladle at a rate providing introduction of 270-310 g of calcium per 1 ton of steel under steel temperature exceeding the liquidus temperature (Tl) by 120- 200°C.
EFFECT: improving workability of steel ingots due to better steel ductility, stabilising the casting process due to better capability of molten steel to supercool and reduction of non-metallic inclusions.
