FIELD: automatic shutting-off of pipe lines in case of loss of their tightness; performing function of safety valve in gas and hydraulic lines actuated by outside effect, for example by loss of tightness. SUBSTANCE: vertical cut-off valve includes body with vertical branch pipe, seat, inlet and outlet holes and hollow shut-off member mounted for motion in vertical branch pipe of body. Hollow shut-off member is made in form of spring-loaded spherical body with holes provided in upper and lower parts of its surface. Spring-loading the spherical body is secured to upper portion of the vertical branch pipe of body and to lower portion of spherical body; it is received by hole of upper portion of surface of spherical body. This hole is also used for communication of cavity of body with surrounding cavity. Holes available in lower portion of surface of spherical body are provided with check valves which are mounted for receiving the total pressure. In initial position, spherical body is located in vertical branch pipe of body. Straightway section of cut-off valve is equal to that of main pipe line in initial position. EFFECT: enhanced reliability. 2 dwg
