FIELD: nuclear reactors. SUBSTANCE: fuel rods 8 placed inside can extended in length are supported on one end by bottom holding body 5 which also holds rod 9 extending beyond fuel rods 8 and supported at its bottom end. Bedplate 13 loosely mounted in can of fuel element 3 rests on top end of fuel rod 9 to prevent damage to fuel rods 8. Fuel element head 17 is inserted by its top end in can of fuel element 3 and is locked in position against spinning due to turning about longitudinal axis of can. Shock-absorbing mount 20 inserted between fuel element head 17 and bedplate 13 is supported both by head 17 and bedplate 13. EFFECT: improved safety of fuel elements. 5 cl, 4 dwg
