FIELD: mechanical engineering; making of tools. SUBSTANCE: proposed method of manufacture of diamond-plated tools includes burning of cermet base. At this stage of manufacture base of tool is subjected to burning in special atmospheres for a period and at temperature to provide considerable surface growing of grains and roughness of surface which can serve as adhesive points during subsequent application of diamond coating carried out by precipitation from gaseous phase. Diamond plated tool has base surface with grains and features high adhesive forces between diamond coating and base surface. EFFECT: improved quality of tool. 6 cl, 12 dwg
