FIELD: measurement technology. SUBSTANCE: flowmeter has pipeline section, flow-around body 2 designed to create vortex formation areas and positioned in pipeline at right angles with pipeline axis, cylindrical chamber 4 in flow-around body communicating by means of two channels 3 brought out to vortex formation areas on opposite sides of flow-around body, in symmetry with plane passing through longitudinal axis of pipeline. It is also provided with signal take-off assembly with sensing element 8 which is positioned freely in cylindrical chamber. In addition, use is made of limiters 5 of sensing element movement in cylindrical chamber. Signal take-off assembly is made in form of radiator 6 and radiator receiver 7 which form optical or fiber-optical sensor, optical axis of which crosses cylindrical chamber axis between limiters of sensing element movement. Sensing element 8 is manufactured as ball of material optically transparent in radiator frequency range. Radiator and signal take-off receiver are made monochromatic.
