FIELD: manufacture of pneumatic tyres, for correction of such tyre characteristic as variation of radial force and/or taper without smoothing of some part of tyre. SUBSTANCE: method of correction of characteristic of uniform thickness of vulcanized tyre with casing reinforcement elements provides for determination of value of thickness uniformity and section of uniform thickness at permanent deformation. At least one part at least of one casing reinforcement element located on section characterized by respective characteristics of thickness uniformity is subjected to deformation causing residual deformation of this section, and according to variation of deformation at least of one part at least of one casing reinforcement element characteristic of thickened uniformity of this section is determined. Installation for correction of thickness uniformity of vulcanized tyre with casing reinforcement elements has a means for tyre fastening, means for tyre inflation, means for creation of deformation, means for correction of thickness uniformity and a control panel. Installation is also furnished with a means for creation of residual deformation at least in one part of casing reinforcement element in section selected in response to indication of position of tyre uniformity characteristic, and means for adjustment of residual deformation. Installation has also an assembly for selective expansion of part of casing reinforcement element of tyre lateral surface, assembly for temporary inflation of tyre to a pressure exceeding tyre working pressure, assembly for selective coverage of one part of tyre lateral surface, means for adjustment with an assembly for creation of time interval during which inflation pressure is acting. Tyre having beads, casing, reinforcement elements, breaker strip is corrected by method and installation, and in crown at least one of casing reinforcement elements located in tyre lateral surface has a section whose residual deformation exceeds limit of its flexibility for reduction of value of characteristic of tyre thickness uniformity.
