FIELD: refractory materials. SUBSTANCE: invention, in particular, relates to refractory materials applicable in ferrous and nonferrous metallurgy, in glassmaking, chemical and other industries. Invention allows reducing cost owing to use secondary resources in the charge: scrap from structural parts employed when laying bath furnaces, basic qualitative characteristics of manufactured refractory materials being retained. To that end, the charge includes 40-60 wt.-% of granular zircon- or mullite-containing, or corundum granular filler fraction > 0.5 mm, the rest being fine aluminosilicate or zircon component fraction < 0.09 mm in the form of combined grinding mixture. The latter is made up of the following components, wt.-%: refractory filler with the same composition as granular filler, 1-50; zircon, 1-50; refractory clay or kaolin, 20-30; scrap, the balance. Free zirconium oxide to free alumina ratio ranges from 1.4 to 4.0. The prepared mass is compressed and baked at 1480-1550 C. EFFECT: reduced cost.
