FIELD: restoration coatings. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to applying powder coatings by gas-thermal methods and can be used in mechanical engineering to restore and reinforce machine parts. Surface of part is heated to 60-80 C and thin layer (0.1 mm) of coating is then laid to prevent surface from oxidation before intensive heating. The latter is accomplished by the aid of two different-action plasmatrons to 600-750 C, the part itself serving as anode for direct-action plasmatron. Thereafter, principal layer is sprayed down from the same powder to desired thickness. This layer, when contacted with thermally prepared surface, is self-melted in the course if coating formation while simultaneously forming strong chemical linkage with substrate and preserving its original structural state. EFFECT: facilitated formation of coating and increased its adhesion to part surface. 2 dwg
